Writing Opportunities
| Writers' Guild... is a celebration of writing to which parents and grandparents are invited. The students do not know whose writing has been chosen until it is read in the assembly. The teacher wears a stole and presents it to the child after their selected writing has been read aloud. The student signs a scrapbook with a large feathered pen and receives a journal and a certificate indicating this honor. |
| The Academy of Authors Program... recognizes outstanding student writing each nine weeks. Special area teachers read and select a piece of writing from each classroom. These writings are displayed on the Academy of Authors wall. The winners' names are announced over the intercom and students are featured on the Concord News Network. The principal and assistant principal then select one writing from each grade level and write each author an invitation to a special lunch. |
